Updated: The Android experience

Hey guys,

I’ve written part VII of the Android experience. I’ve rebooted my phone and saw the nasty boot animation, and removed it. Read more here.

I am facing a little problem with my operator. I don’t get any connection. So I guess the best way to harden your phone is to:

  • turn it off ;)
  • change your operator to the german “E-Plus”

and you can be sure that all your data is secure ;) (Don’t take this tooo serious ;)

updated: Evolution to IMAP

Hi guys,

as you might noticed, I’m a little bit pissed about Evolution. I’ve tried some e-mail clients and found Claws Mail an useful alternative. Migrating an local stored mbox based maildir is a god damn pain in the ass. It is even worst if you try it manualy.

F**k you Evolution

… the great PIM – program created by … who cares. I’m really pissed right now.

*** Update ***

I’ve changed the Android App page and added a short comment to every app and program. You can consider this as my 2 cents about every app. All apps can be considered as useful also.

google frontpage + GPS ?

What’s wrong with google?

Something like this where my thoughts as I typed www.google.de in my new 551.

What’s the problem dude, some of you might ask. The thing is, I used my own guide to harden my phone. One of the settings is about the location done by the webbrowser. Which is -of course- turned of.

The Android experience revisited

Just as Huxley revisited the brave new world, I did it with the Android experience. Which does not mean I am a genius like him ;) I just want to say that the Android experience is fully translated into English and that I want to answer some questions.

mobile Hotspot

I am in Berlin right now. Did a short trip to visit my family and some old friends. I’ve tried -just for fun- the Tethering & mobile hotspot feature. Well I like it … a kind of.

First of all, all went fine, my so called settings are applied, which have been added to the hardening Android article. I cannot understand why Android handles things like security that lazy.
