The Android experience I

To start the experience I’ve had to pass some obstacles:  The famous Amazon Marketplace.

I’ve ordered:

Original deutsche Ware ohne Netzbetreiber Branding und mit deutscher Bedienungsanleitung
(original german product without ISP branding and with german manual)

Sounds good to me! The first shop delivered after 5 days. I’ve ripped of the packing, ignored the english manual and started the device. Awesome! The slider is cool. I’ve “played” a little bit and found an app called “360 Update” and started this app. A vodafone app was started … I just remembered the “without ISP branding” … damn! I was a little bit pissed. Later I’ve discovered the QWERTY keyboard layout. The second insufficiency. Now I was really pissed and send back the phone.

(A little note: I am from Germany and ordered a german keyboard layout (QWERTZ))

I’ve re-ordered the phone the next monday, waited a while and got a new device. I’ve unpacked and started the device. I was greeted by …

Again … branding free … NOT! The Telekom preinstalled a lot of Apps. Nobody (all none Telekom customers … and especially not me) needs these apps:

• Mobilbox
• WatchTV
• Navigon starter
• …

I’ve turned of the device and started to look for solutions to deinstall these apps. It seems that they are a part of the ROM, so this will be tricky. I’ve decided to document this during the “Clean-up”. So here we are. The next part deals with the de-installation of the shipped apps.
